Is the Canon SD950is 12mp or 8mp. Steves review shows the camera as a 12mp, but Canon uk show it as a 8mp. Which is it please?

Those are two different cameras (as I just answered in the other thread you started about it, which I've now moved to this forum). You're not looking at the same camera on the UK Web site.

Canon uses different model naming for different regions (for example, Europe, U.S., Japan).

Both are correct for their respective models (the PowerShot SD950 IS that Steve reviewed is a 12 Megapixel Camera, and the Canon Digital IXUS 950 IS you're looking at on a Canon UK web site is an 8 Megapixel Camera.

Steve reviewed the Canon Powershot SD950 IS and you're looking at a Canon Digital IXUS 950 IS (different camera).

The Canon Digital IXUS 950 IS in Europe is the same camera as the Canon PowerShot SD850 IS in the U.S.
