I love my SD700IS and get great results. Have had 2 years and took 20gig pictures in Europe.

I bought an SD950IS so my wife and I could both have a camera for a long trip. I love panoramasbut all thepans had vertical lines when stitching only with the 950. I tried all different settings, earlier software fromthe SD700and even Photoshop elements. All without success.

Iwent back to the store and tried a new SD950IS andI get the same problem I am ready to turn it back and take the restocking hit.

I think this is a design problem. I look at the deeper recess of the lens relative to the 700 and maybe it is shaddowing the edges of the picture. I am not an engineer just frustration driven.

I took 20 gig worth of pics in Asiaso I have tried everything. Very disappointed as a Canon fan for 20+years. Any advice?

style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000"I will send samples, but I don't know how and to whom.

Well, just for future reference, what you're experiencing is called vignetting, which is a darkening away from the center. Many if not most lenses exhibit this behavior. Photoshop has a vignetting filter which takes care of this problem easily, not sure if Elements has the same filter.

Here's some more detail about it:
