Hi,

I bought a S5IS and just love it.(so far just in auto mode) but when I take a picture of my dogs they have bright green eyes. When I push the button half way the green light is on the spot where I am shooting but their eyes come up bright green. Beautiful pictures but gross eyes. I have tried putting the square box on their chest before I shot but it doesnt always work.

Sorry if this is a stupid question.
I tried posting the picture but couldnt get it to show.

This is caused by the flash reflecting off of your dogs' retinas. The same thing happens in people, only with humans the color is red. You can fix this with software or by moving the flash up away from the lens, such as it would be if you attached an external flash to the camera.

I still get green eyes but I am getting better. I just love this camera and still havent went out of auto. I am trying to find a place to take some lessons on it. I find that I get some really great shots than the next one is blured. Here are a couple of good ones I think.

I know they are not great but I am getting better.
