would like to know if this camera is what you call a pocket camera?

Also I would like to know what you think of this camera?

Is it hard to use? Image quality 1 being POOR and 10 being VERY GOOD, how would you rate it?Is this a good camera for action photos?

Is this camera good for indoors as will as outdoors? Rate 1 for very poor 10 for very good?

Why not check out our Canon Powershot G9 Review?

I would not consider this a pocket camera at all. It is "compact", but not something you could throw in your pants pocket; unless you have very large pockets :lol:

Good luck, and GO BUCKEYES!

If you want a truely pocketable camera, but also the image quality of the G9 (or A650 IS), take a look at the SD950 IS;

http://www.steves-digicams.com/2007_...non_sd950.html

It's much easier to use for someone that has been away from the hobby, yet it has high quality results. It lacks the manual controls of the G9 and A650 IS, but if you just want to take a good picture the SD950 IS should work for you.

well, I wear jeans, and it fit into my pocket, but it took up my whole pocket, with only a little room to spare...left alone in that pocket, I could sit down and notice it was in my pocket, but it did not annoy me/poke into my leg...

i actually went out to dance "salsa" (which requires a lot of moving/turning/etc), and it did not bother me...

but to take it out did take a slight effort, but it did fit in my pocket though...

I think G9 is one of the best camera you can find. I just get one and love it. Small enoughto put in mypocket, pictures are as good or even better than from my Nikon D200. Can be use in automatic mode but you need to be able to do some worksfor best results. The controls are as easy to use as in my D200. I think Canon G9 is designed for people who already owna dslr. They will be a good combination. But I did not touch my D200 since I got G8 more than a week now.

This is one of the first pictures taken with my G9.
