Default Another 2 A70 questions

1. does the A70 have manual focus?
2. does it really reject half drained batteries?

Yes it has manual focus. It is not an infanatlly adjustable one like having a ring on the lens you turn or anything like that. It is push button operated and goes in steps. It works ok though and is much beter than no manual focus at all.
As far as battery life goes, when the camera says dead battery and powers down, yes the batteries still have enough power to run other devices for a little while. As far as I am concerned, who cares. The battery life is very long. I have heard of people going on vacation for a week or two and they did not fully use one set. They will run for a very long time between recharges. Just look at how it compared to other cameras.

concerning the batteries:
Yes, the cam tells you the batteries are already empty, even if there's still some power left.
But the cam needs a continuous high level of power supply, which other things might not need. That's why the batteries still work in some smaller things afterwards.

But as richard mentioned before: the battery life is really good!
I use Sanyo 1850 mAh batteries, and they last for at least 200-300 pics (max. quality), the LCD turned on.
