To follow on from this, you can check out some video that I've shot at http://www.vimeo.com/2722280also you can download the 720p footage. I always downsize to 720p from full HD as this works best on my laptops so you can't see quite the original.

Mark,
I've installed SUPER v.2009.
How do you convert your SX1 HD videos in order to watch on 32" LCD TV connected to Pioneer DV600-AV DVD Player by HDMI cable.
On Pioneer the video setup is as follows:
HDMI Resolution : 720 x 576p 50Hz
HDMI Color: Composite.
Right now I obtain the following error message:
The video Resolution of This File is Not Supported.
I hear the sound of the video clip.

Thanks.

Adam

Hi Mark,

Can you share the original movie (quicktime MOV 1080p 30fps h264)?
Maybe with Rapidshare or Megaupload.

Thank you very much.

(where did you bought the camera? An how much?(PowerShot SX1 IS))

I only keep the 720p so sorry to say I can't help. To make editing easier the first thing I do is convert to 720p and go from there.

If you look at some of the other Vimeo videos they are there with the original files to download, just search for SX1.

I got mine in the UK for £399.

Hello Mark.

I've downloaded your video ( resised too 720p ) and it looks very good.

The one with the model airplane in it !

I have a question for you, what program did you use and what settings for video and sound did you use ?b.t.w your format was wmv.

I'm planning to buy a SX1 too.

Best regards,

Stefan

I use Adobe Premier Elements 7.0. Output is I believe 5000 bps for video and 128 bps audio so not the highest quality but good enough for what I want and doesn't eat up too much hard disk.

Hello Mark,

Thank you very much for your quick reply.

As soon as I have the camera, I'll try the program and the suggested settings.

I read and saw on several review pages ( cameralabs.com ) about purple fringing in photo mode that is, What is your view in that ?

I resently bough a panasonic Fx35 ( for wide angle 25mm ) and this one, as the FZ 28, both don't have this at all.

Do you think it'll show up on prints 10x15 cm ?

Thanks again,

Stefan

It is there a little but not noticeable at those sizes, also software can remove the problem so don't panic. If you want HD video then there is no other option currently if it is mainly for photos I would probably go FZ28.
