Absolutely. The G3 is a MUCH better camera. The hot shoe alone is worth the price difference, as is the faster, longer lens and the much better LCD.

It depends on your personal needs and wants. I just read in another forum earlier today that someone sold their G3 and got an A80. The G3 was not being used because he felt it was too big. He said he uses the A80 a lot and I think it was a good choice for him.

Personally I decided that an A80 suits my needs very well. The G3 and G5 cameras have more features but since I won't be using the extra features and wanted a camera a bit smaller, the A80 was the best choice. For me it is the best choice, you have to determine your needs. No one else can figure out what features you may or may not use.
