Default Canon G-2 write speeds? Distortion with 1st photo.

(New Member) I am using my G-2 set to Auto. The card is a Lexar 24x 256mb. Everytime I turn the camera on and take a photo, the first photo doesn't finish writing. Every subsequent photo is fine. The problem occurs only with the first photo after camera is turned on. Do I have an incorrect setting somewhere? Is there a better setting in the camera for fastest write speeds...or is this a different issue all together? Thanks

Imhoff. I don't think your problem is a camera setting. It's either the card, or a fault with the camera. Can you try another card - possibly borrow one from a friend. You could go to a camera shop and ask if they have a card lying around you could try. Is your camera still under warranty?

You might try using the small CF card that came with the camera as well. I have a 340MB microdrive in my G2 and have not had this problem.
