That a nice night shot, Viz-

Frankly, I was not blown away by the Canon G-11 either, and I returned the camera. So, I am back to my DSLR cameras, but still shooting long zoom with the Panasonic FZ-35.

I am keeping mine and fiddling with it to see what I can get out of it. It is capable but I guess I need to continue shooting with it to find out what I can discover with it. The one I posted was a pleasant surprise.

I can't find the thread where someone was inquiring about the G11 and remote control. Here is a shot I took tonight of the full moon using total Manual. No PP yet to try to sharpen it. However, I did use my new remote control and wanted too show that the camera does take fairly decent photos with this tool.

Default Which one to buy S90 Or G11???

Hi everyone, I'm about to buy one of the 2 Canons S90 , G11, what do you recommend ??? I'm almost about to get the G11 untill I saw the comparison made in this site

http://www.digitalversus.com/duels.php?ty=1&ma1=1&mo1=939&p1=7155&ma2=1&mo2=936 &p2=7126&ph=6

In poor lighting the S90 is better, Please what canon do you recommend me to buy.

Thanks a lot.

There are quite a few folks that are unhappy with their S90 due to the rear control dial. Here are a couple of links about it.

There are also many that really like the S90. Here's one thread discussing the new S90 review on DPR.

http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/re...ssage=35011356

The S90 may be better than the G11 in low light due to the S90's f/2.0 lens at the widest angle view. However, the G11's lens is a little faster on the longer end of the zoom.

I've been considering both cameras myself, as I'm looking to "upgrade" from a G9. I have not made a decision yet, but I'm leaning towards the G11, since it operates about the same as my G9. For me, the added features of the G11 will probably override my interest in a smaller camera with a faster lens.

You might also want to wait and see what the newly announced Samsung TL500/EX1 can do. There are some folks drooling over the prospects, while others think it may be a dud. Time will tell.

Default Noooooooobie in Medellín, Colombia

I sold a piece of painting to a friend and with that money, I decided to invest in a decent camera.. I waivered b/t the s90 and the g11 for about 3 months. Finally i decided on the s90, for the size, for the front ring. But then I began thinking about how I really do want to learn the basics of "real" photography, so I changed my mind and asked my brother (who is in nyc) to order me the G11.

I am hoping i don't kick myself after it arrives (in a couple of months)!!!!! Great forum! Thanks!
