Default EF 28-135 IS USM

Advice here will be greatly appreciated. The EF 28-135mm IS USM seems to be a decent lens for the price. I am considering it for my main lens. The dilemma I have though is losing out on wide angle due to the 1.6x multiplier. Does anyone use this as their main lens, and is the mulitplier effect enough of a limitation to rather go for wide angle at the expense of telephoto? I would generally shoot landscape.

The EF 28-135mm IS USM (1st shot @ 28mm) is a general purpose lens, but IMO its too tight and you'll still need a wide angle... I have a 17-35mm (2nd shot @ 17mm) but still long for more!

Check this 12mm-24mm out. There's always stitching if it's still life with no moving components...
