I bought the black SX210 IS. The zoom lens is excellent. The camera overall is excellent. I put up a review with sample images and video on my website. Have a look:

Oh, and don't worry about the site. I'm not a spammer. I have no advertising on my site. Search for it via Google if you're worried about clicking the link. I understand. I'm careful about the links I click, too.

Best,

Default choice choices

Sarah,
Do you still have your Sx200 and still liking it?

I have tested zs3 for a few days and did not like the colors and flash performance at all. I must say that I've been a looong time Powershot user, since 2004 and my first A70. I've also tested Samsung TL320 did not like the feel of it at all.

Anyway, I want to replace my SD790, although with a big hesitation - great PS with 2.8 lens, plenty of controls, metal body, just a tank. I need HD to record my 10m.o. son, short clips, usually only 30-60s. Now I'm looking at SX200 and 210, but from the looks 200 is more functional, but I will miss a dedicated record button.

My questions are:
1. Is AF in video mode fixed or dynamic like in ZS3? All my previous Powershots had fixed AF.
2. Once powered on, I understand that the flash pops up no matter what. Can you close it and still use the camera? By closing it, does the flash automatically sets to Off?
3. Is the popup flash spring loaded or mechanically raised?
4. So there is no zooming at all in Video mode on sx200. Has anyone tried the CHDK hack?
5. Any tight fitting, small form factor cases to recommend?
6. Should I go with blue or black color? :-)

Thanks for reading and hopefully I will get a reply from any current user. I'm flying out end of a month and wanted to have a new toy by then.

marcin-

The SX-200 is a good camera but has a few glitches. You cannot zoom while filming video. The spring loaded pop-up flash pops up even when not needed, and cannot be stowed. I carry my SX-200 in my purse in a side pocket, so no case is needed, and I have the blue color.

I had it. The zoom is fantastic. I like FOCUS.
