Default conon firewire

I'm thinking of buying a canon 1ds, however i read that it connects to the computer via firewire. I have a mac and there is an issue with firewire 800 drives in OS 10.3, does anyone know if there are anyreported problems with the 1ds and mac OS 10.3 due to the firewire issue.

the 1Ds supports firewire 400 native. not 800. there will be no issue unless you only have FW800 only. there is a difference in connection. FW400 is a 6 pin powered plug or a 4 pin unpowered plug. FW800 is a 9 pin plug now. so an adapter will be required at about $9 from buy.com to plug in.
