Default is it a good deal for a canon 30D?

Hi, a friend of mine is selling me her camera, i've been wanting to buy one for a long time (for atistic use only, lots of use!) and i'm not sure if this deal is worth it...
it's a Canon 30D
its shutter life is 100,000 and this one has a little less than 30,000...
shes also giving me:
aEF-S 18-55mm lens
2 batteries, 1 of 4GB and one of 256MB
and it just got a service and she saids it is in good shape so...
she is asking for$780, and its negotiable...
what should i do?

way too much. WAY too much.

for that you could get a t1i with the 18-55 image stabilized lens.

and 30,000 actuations is actually quite high.

she is asking at least twice as much as she should be, and even then, i wouldnt take it for a 30d with 30,000 shutter actuations.

Exactly, that's crazy money!!

What sort of thing do you want to be able to shoot as the T1i might be a good choice or you can drop to the XSi and save some money then put that towards another lens or flash once you have had time to shoot with it and know what would be the best option to add.
