Canon PowerShot SD1200 - no more "protect all images"?

One of the best features on all of our previous PowerShot models has been the ability to "protect all images". On the SD1200, it appears that you can only protect individual pictures but not all images at once. Anyone with small children knows how important this feature is. On the SD1000, it was extremely easy to accidentally erase pictures, so it was a good idea to lock the pictures even for the adults using the camera.

Is there really no way to protect all images at once? Why would Canon remove this option??
