Default PIXMA cannot print

I own a Canon PIXMA iP6600d. When I try to print a document the paper come out of the feed but it does not print. Could someone help with how i should proceed to troubleshoot this problem. FYI the only anomoly is one of the ink cartridges is low on ink. So far I performed some maintenance I cleaned the heads

NOT BROKEN ... replace the ink and it will work just fine ... workaround: set for greyscale only (assuming empty is not black)
