Default Overly large video files - SD940

I just picked up the SD940 - my primary reason for getting the camera was its compact HD video capability. For whatever reason, the 720P 30 fps files are unreasonably large. A 30 second clip is 90+ MB. I did a side-by-side comparison test with my $100 Aiptek mini camcorder, and a 30 second indoor scene was only 14MB on the Aiptek and 92MB on the Canon. Surprisingly, the Aiptek's picture was slightly clearer and had less grain in it as well. Is there any way to scale down the bitrate on the Canon? A firmware update perhaps?

Thanks!
