I have one coming tomorrow. I'm keeping my Panasonic FZ35. But I've tried the FZ100 (twice - returned it both times) and I am still have the FZ40 for a few more days. I'm getting good results from the FZ40 so it will be an interesting comparison.

I was picking up a couple things at Walmart today, and stopped by the camera section. They have the SX30 in now, and I got to try it out. Frankly I'm impressed. Even at low ISO speeds at the telephoto end with retail-store lighting, handheld, it produced very sharp images, at least on its own screen. Absolutely no motion blur at 840mm (35mm terms). It's also really nicely laid out, with easy access to everything. My main gripe is that in low light, the EVF has a low refresh rate which gets really dizzying really fast.

Today I got my SX30IS.

Busy day for me. So I was able to take only few pics that too from my desk in the office.

Posting them here. I am still a learner so bear with my mistakes.

1st and 2nd were taken at full wide angle and the 3rd one was taken using the full zoom. There is a glass in between so you will find some glass shades.

I will post some more pics in the next couple of days.

the first and second has nice color for shooting through the glass with the metal fill. The blue really came out nicely in the sky.

Default Pics with the SX30is

I just bought this camera a few days ago. I am NOT a professional photographer but wanted the convenience of a high powered zoom for cool shots, mostly of birds. My expectations are only to provide me, with what I think are great shots that I couldn't get before. I am still very much learning this camera and would love any advice on these pictures. Most of these were taken on day one of ownership. Hope you enjoy!
