Default Canon S90-looking at Shooting Props

I am using ZoomBrowser EX to look at the shooting properties--I finally got some decent indoor photos and can't remember what setting I used. I was pretty sure I kept it on Auto this time, and when I look at the shooting properties, it does say Auto. But I can't remember if I manually turned off the flash (I believe I did, because the lighted Christmas tree looks pretty and not washed out). But looking at the properties, I'm not experienced enough to even know if I can tell if the flash was on or off, or if the properties can even tell me that. It says 0 on Exposure Compensation--does that have anything to do with flash? Or how can I tell? Please excuse my ignorance.

Check the EXIF read-out, it includes whether the flash was used or not.

Reference my admission of ignorance: how do I "check the EXIF read-out"?

Download an EXIF reader, there are several free ones on the internet, and read the data, the EXIF file, that is a part of every photo.
