Thanks a lot for this great comparisson!
I was expecting to see userd comments about SX40HS.

Right now it is a temptation to wait for Fuji's XS-1 launching...lets see...

Regards!

Default I Have decided for the SX40 !

Why - because IQ is the most important thing for me, and the Pana has that
"yellowish" cast on images (mostly to be seen in white at high ISO´s).
I use to have the FZ38 - but only a couple of weeks, it too had that yellowish cast; and that was the reason why I returned it.
So I will in the next week buy the SX40 ! Thats for sure

Default Some photos taken by the SX40

Now, I just bought the camera over the weekend and haven't experimented yet with all the manual controls it has to offer, so be patient with me as I get more practice in.

Default FZ-150/SX40 comparison

Nice pictures, Amy!
Wow... it would really be cool to see a direct comparison between the two of these cameras, as they seem to be the best of the current crop of superzooms- only with the extreme additional reach of the Canon, it almost makes comparison's tough.... the additional reach of the Canon gives it an unfair advantage to its overall "score". Would the Panasonic be better enough otherwise to equalize the Canon's advantage?? The Canon's IS is also supposed to be very good compared to most other competitors....

One thing's for sure Wes,whoever buy's a Panny' or the Canon will be happy...
All else being equal, give or take, I guess it comes down to Panny's extra speed versus Canon's extra reach....!
And nice pictures Amy...
