Default SX40HS.. we need to see test pics...

Hi,
I am just wating to see some real test pics from this new cam, before I order the FZ150.

If the Canon has good ISO and good low light pics.. then I will survive the fact that video is 24fps and that RAW is missing.

The FZ150 has all I need, but I still believe that Canon produces generally better IQ in pictures. "Am I wrong" in this camera class, at least.

Is there any any place where you can see the first shots of the SX40HS?

Redicolously the Canon site shows only one.

I would like to see pics with ISO from 100-800.

If any link to extra shots, please provide them

Yep - youre right. I think however that the Panny is better. Why ? Because if they can make 50p (60p usa) videos with full HD, they got to have a fast processor - and the SX40 has only 24p (wonder why).
That also impacts on the HS features - much more Fps than the SX40.
But, I waiting for the test, just to see if the CA is gone ? but again - lens is the same as SX30 and I believe that CA comes from the lens ?
Btw, I did have the SX30 and apart from the IQ it was a wonderful and easy Cam and very robust too. But IQ ? --naaaaa

Unbelievable that Canon releases a cam and after almost a week still no test shots from any "known" reviews site.

Pana's FZ150 were there almost same day. Why announcing something that is not available for review or to buy?...

I would announce it and then starting shipping to supplier/reviews site the day after.

On paper, when the SX30 came out I thought my prayers had been answered.
Alas, dreadfully slow and below par IQ..... shame..
Maybe the SX40 will fulfill my dreams of a genuine "all in one"...

Default Did YOU buy the SX40 yet ?

Anybody bought that cam yet ?
What is your comments ?
What donīt you like ?
What do you like ?
Am thinking of buying this cam instead of the Pana FZ150.
(due to the high ISO IQ, the zoom, and the "canon way")
Regards, Claus

Thanks for those Slyfox- the higher iso examples look pretty darn decent, given the zoom used etc. Even the woodpecker at iso 3200 would look ok in smaller prints..!
The Sparrows on the table at iso 800 look good too...
How speedy is the focus at the longer end of the zoom..?
Keep the pics coming...

Default SX-40HS vs. Nikon P500 image comparison

Here's some good info on a comparison of these two cameras by Ziess USA Representative Steve Ingraham:
