Default sx30 is af point zoom greyed out on menu

I have a canon sx30 is and on the menu the AF POINT ZOOM is greyed out.
This is supposed to be that when you focus the point that you are shooting in magnified..when I went to he menu the af point zoom is greyed out..how do I ungrey it

Hi Kas- I don't own this specific camera,but my guess is you're in full auto mode..?
Try switching the camera to Program,Manual,Aperture or Shutter priority.

It is already in program mode...no menu in automatic....found the problem...I reset the menu and every thing came back...then I was l clicking on other functions and when I click on increase zoom level, the af zoom greyed out..now I know what the problem was...Thank you for your response
