Default Can I extend video length SX30IS

I need to be able to record continuous video for about 50 minutes, which equates to something like 11Gb of card space. But the camera shuts after about 20 minutes, or 4Gb. I then need to start again.

Can I get the 4Gb/20 minute restriction extended?

If not, can anyone suggest the best way to stitch two videos (admittedly there will be a short break for the time it takes to get going again).

You won't be able to do that : the 4gb limit is a filesystem limit : the system just doesn't know how to address more than that size (bit like a mailman that wouldn't climb more than 4,000 stories ; want more apartments, build a new skyscraper).

For stitching together, there are *many* solutions but an easy one - at least if you've got a registered Windows copy - would be to download the free and simple Windows Movie Maker.
