Default Canon A590 video effects in sunny conditions

When recording video in sunny conditions with canon a590 very often light spots appear as I'm panning from bright to shaded areas. In extreme cases these “spots” take on an almost diamond-like shape. I have the camera set to “daylight”. Has anybody noticed this effect or have a remedy please?

G'day mate

Sounds like a simple case of lens flare via non-use of a lens hood

Without lens hood > with lens hood [forget the triangle in the top corner, that's something else]

,

Hope this helps a bit
Regards, Phil
