Default Why is the S230 more expensive than the SD100?

Both are same megapixels at 3.2, the SD is SD card compatible, smaller and all that. Same optical zoom and the SD even has a little speaker, I dont get it...
The S230 is more expensive and older.
Any clues?

It's simply supply and demand... the S230 is no longer in development. The supply is minimal. If a vendor runs out of the SD100, it's very simple to get more from Canon.

The G4 can also be more expensive than the G5.
