Default whats the best deal ? canon a70 or a80

Ok Im thinking of upgrading from my old trustworth olympus c 2020 to a new faster camera with more megs. None of the new olympus have the features or memory system (xd a bad deal) in the camera of the size I want(a brick like 5060). The good news is there alot of really good choices . I read the reviews of both a70 and a80 here and elsewhere and they both take stunning high quality pictures , with the alot of user control , good cheap memory system (cf cards), double aa batterys (got loads of aa nmh) and compact size for easy carry. The question is the price difference? is the picture quality of the a80 worth the the extra $100.00 usd over a70? The only othere models that have caught my eye are the even more compact canon s400 and the casio qvr 51, but the lack the manual control I like to sometime use. So what the better deal , with the a75 coming out there are some insane deals on the a70 or is the improved picture quality with the 4meg a80 worth the extra money?

The extra MP of the A80 isn't as big a deal as the flip out LCD on the back is. It makes the camera much more versatile as far as being able to shoot from the waist or around a corner or most any other angle. As a very happy owner of the G5 I have to say the swivelling LCD is very much worth having if you can afford the extra $100, and yes, you will be able to print marginally bigger pictures & keep better resolution with the A80.

And can anyone comment this:
A70:
- 35-105mm, f2.8-4.8 zoom
- 1,5" LCD 78 000 pixels
vs
A80:
- 38-114mm, f2.8-4.9 zoom
- 1,5" LCD 67 000 pixels
vs
A75:
- 35-105mm, f2.8-4.8 zoom
- 1,8" LCD 118 000 pixels

What is look like pictures on LCD of A80 if this camera has the smaller number pixels?
What is it: 35-105 or 38-114 zoom?

IMHO, you might need to see if olympus 5050z is more suitable for your photographing habbit. As you can see the A70/A75/A80 all have small apertures 2.8 - 4.8/4.9 in the zoom ranges, it is quite a bit difference from olympus 2020 which has big apertures 1.8 - 2.6 thoughout. Big apertures can take great indoor or low light photos while A70/A75/A80 is not really so *great* in those cases.
