s60 seems to be the new kingin compact class.

As far as I see the sample images are very good.

As you know all the 8 mp cameras make quiet noise. So,this 5 mp seems to be good.

What do you think about it?

I like the wide angle on the S60, but don't see much different from the S50. Too bad the lens is slower at the long end, but that's not a big deal for me as most of my shooting is in bright light. I think the Olympus 5060Z (27mm-110mm) is a more versatile camera (takes filters directly, has hot shoe and articulating LCD, etc.), but it is also bigger than the S60. There are always trade-offs....

I seriously doubt any improvement in the "red eye" problem with the S60. The flash is stilltoo close to the axis of the lens.
