Hi. I have a Canon Powershot S410 and I am very pleased with the image quality. I was thinking of changing it for a Sony W1 but i'm not sure which one has better image quality in auto mode, since I strickly want a point and shoot. I don't want to touch the manual settings much, just to get good quality image with auto mode. Which of the two is better?

Steve,
I just purchased the W1 and have been very unhappy with the 'soft' pictures it takes. All the pictures look slightly out of focus.

I just compared on this site photos from the Canon A80 (4MP) and the Sony W1 (5MP) and the A80 is much better.

Just looked at the S410 photos and they too look better than the W1.

And yet another followup.

I compared the photos taken with the Sony DSC-S85 (friend's) with my new W1, and the S85's pictures are much better. The W1 that's 5MP doesn't even give pictures as good as a 4MP!

Don't get the W1
