You should have 2 CD's.

one of them is for the driver for the camera and zoomex.

The other one is ArcSoft.

If u don't have it, maybe I can email to you.

Make sure ur yahoo account can store 100MB and not 6MB.

If not, just opened a new account to get it!

:-)

I have no problems with memory cards ***before*** upgrading the firmware to 1.0.1.0 version, but I've upgrade camera firmware last week and now I've a lot of reading problems with memory cards.

I think so that "memory errors" are in fact a serious bug in the last firmware published by CANON. Unfortunately it is not possible to return to the 1.0.0.0 firmware version because CANON only post this last ***bugly*** version.

BE CAREFUL!!!
DO NOT UPGRADE FIRMWARE!!!

If you can copy the images from your cards to your hard drive, it might be advisable to do this and then to format the CF cards in the camera. If they are formatted by the camera after the new firmware version is installed, there is a chance that they might work properly in the future. Good luck.

Good news!

today (10/09/2004) canon japan has publised a new release of their firmware (1.0.2.0) I hope resolver CF problems for all.

See in http://web.canon.jp/Imaging/pss1is/firmware-e.html

CANON says:
CHANGES in 1.0.2.0
Improvements in the communication processing with the CF card.

Previous version was retired from web.

Just did it. Easy to do. 10 minutes tops.

I'm not finicky. The only problem I had was a Kinston 1G card not recording more than 14 sec of vid at the highest setting. I'm currently at 7 minutes. Problem solved.

The low light level AF seems improved also.

I'm pretty sure I did the firmware upgrade years ago, but I just want to see what the current firmware is on the camera. I went into ZoomBrowserEx and the "My Camera Settings" is always grayed out! No matter how many times I install the drivers it seems to use a generic Microsoft one... even from the disc that came with the camrea... bleh.

Any ideas how I might find out my S1 IS' firmware?

thanks...
