Is there a maximum size compact flash card that can be used with the Canon
S1 IS (i.e. 1 GB, 2 GB or even 4 GB)? Also, is there any noticeable difference in photo and/or movie image quality between the standard CF cards and the Ultra or Elite versions?

Thanks.

Hi ,the only restriction on size is that you can only write a 1 Gb video file in each shot(9min at highest setting). As I believe the camera is FAT32 compatable any size CF card can be used or minidrive that complies wiyh Type 1 or 2 standards

I have used the supllied canon card and ULtra 2 cards in video but as canon card is only 32mb I cant say for sure it can handle extended video shooting at highest settings.I would suggest if you but fast Cf card now it should cover you for any increased demands from newer cameras in the medium term.
