I got a A75 last week and immediately noticed a minor black spot...rather a faint halo kinda thing on the LCD just above the 'Disp' button. Almost like someone is pressing that bottm portion of the LCD with a finger. It does not affect the snaps or prints however. I went and checked a few more pieced from where I bought it, and all of them have such a soft darkish patch.

Its all the more visible when you focus on something like white paper.

Is this a problem...should I check for a different batch of A75s, just in case?

I just looked at mine and yes it has the dark area. But to tell you the truth I've taken about 500 pics on it so far and only noticed it after reading your post.:!:

It's not a defect.

I think you are talking about the backlight. There are 2 LEDS at the bottom of the LCD that generate a backlight.
