When I plug my camera into Windows 2003, Web, the o/s identifies the camera and such however when i try and use the Canon software it says it can not connect to the camera. Please plug it in or turn it on communications mode.

Same software on my Windows XP Pro desktop works fine. Any suggestions on a fix?

The disk reader I have works fine on Windows 2003 Web edition, which is what Ive been using to transfer the files. However now i need to do some longer video shots then my 64 mb memory card can handle and need my computer to store it (Like i can with my desktop).

Well, I can not communicate with the camera. Realized that WIA was off on my O/S.

Heres some details...
If you have a Camera, Webcam or Scanner, follow these instructions:

Go to Start -> Run -> and type in Services.msc and scroll down until you find the "Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) ", double click on Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) and select startup type Automatic -> Apply -> Start -> OK.

Now install the drivers for your Camera, Webcam, or Scanner.

Now just gotta figure out how to get the Canon software to work 100% with the camera.
