Our S1 IS is about 2 month old and we are new comers to the digital camera world. I am usually the one taking the pictures not my husband.

My out door pictures are good. I am up coming up with to many indoor pics with red eye. At first it was not a problem. The last four grandchildrens birthday picture sessions has not been good. The pictures are indoor, close ups, with lots of red eye showing up. I have been using AF with the red eye ON....

This is the only complaint I have with this camera, but then I am pretty green so maybe I can not see anything else yet. Biggest concern is the red eye for me right now. Any suggestions?

Is there a way to reset all settings back to manufacture mode and then I start all over? I am sure this pilot error and probably something I have unconsiously set and didn't realize it. Thanks for the help. S Fuqua

Hi, You can read at p.68 how to do it.

"1.Turn the mode lever to power up the camera.

2.Press the MENU button for longer than 5 seconds.
The message "Reset settings to default?" appears on the
LCD monitor (or viewfinder).

3.Select [OK]on the omni selector, then press the
SET button.

Resetting start."
About red-eye it's very difficult the avoid it. If it happens use software to remove it.
