I have Canon S60 camera.

I am planning a trip to India. I checked out that India uses 220V as compared to US's 110V.

The Canon S60 battery charger takes Input as 110v - 240v.

Do I need any adapter or converter to use this charger in India??

I would appreciate if someone can help me.

Thank you

I have not been to India. However, the reason you see dual voltage ratings on many electronic devices, is so they can be used in more than one country.

When I've travelled from the U.S. overseas with laptops with similar ratings, I've never had any problems. You will probably need to get an adapter for the power cord plug. These are readily available at many electronics retailers. The last time I purchased some, Radio Shack had them.

Thank you Jim for your reply..

Do you mean that in India I can just take the charger and plug it in any electrical outlet and charge the battery.

What do you mean by adater for power cord plug?

For charging a battery I m not using any power cord...I hope you knowthat the S60 battery charger straightaway plugs into wall jack itself.
So when am I using the power cord?

Thankyou Again

I see that I'm answering your questions on another forum at the same time. :-)

Iam talking about the power cord that you plug into the wall outlet. The connections are usually different overseas (the way the plug looks is different where it plugs into the wall).

So, you need an adapter that plugs into the wall outlet, then you plug the power cord from your charger into the adapter. Here is the type you'll need for India:

They also sell a travel kit with more types(in case you encounter an area with a different kind):
