Just wondering what type of CompactFlash cards everyone is using for movie mode in the S1 IS? I'm looking to purchase a 1GB card and am wondering whether a 'standard' (blue label) SanDisk would be satisfactory or not. I've reviewed all the information on the SanDisk site and it really isn't of much help as it doesn't go into detail re: write speed for the basic card compared to say the Ultra II.

Thanks.

And "Yes" some of you may have seen the same question posed on the DCRP website.

I'm using a Lexar 512MB 40x CF.

It works great never had any problems. Hhhmmm, I saw a site some time ago where they had listed the CF cards which worked...can't rememberthe addressthough but will edit here as soon as I find it (if!)
I have used my Lexar withvideo too and no problems. I have a couple of sample videos at my website if you wish to see the video capabilities.

Good luck and I'm sure you'll be happy with what ever you buy!

I have used standard Sandisk 512 MB cards and the Magicstor drives (2.2Gb); the latter sometimes gives errors, easliy corrected by pulling the drive out and reinserting; never used the 640x480 fine, though; was told elsewhere that there is not a great deal of difference in quality between fine and normal in 640x480 mode

my couple-year-old 1GB Sandisk standard CF won't record more than about 45 or so seconds of 640x480 fine 30fps.
