I have been looking at this camera for a little while now and their are not to many reviews out for it yet. I am thinking of buying this camera and I wanted to know what your thoughts on this camera for the people that have it. How is the picture quality? The size is a big plus for me so that helps out a lot. Any help regarding my questions will be appreciated. Thanks

Have the 300 and it is great.

See my post above for sample pics.

300 is also smaller than 200.

I would recommend 300, given increased pixel count and smaller body for minimal price difference (if you shop around)

I would recommend the opposite and advise that the SD200's body is the smaller one by 15 grams, not the other way around. There is about a $100 price difference which gets you an extra megapixel at the cost of weight and the rings (you either like or dislike the rings around the lens).

I am leaning towards the sd200.The deciding factors for the sd200 is fast start up, fast shot to shot, and I like all the presets. Most of my shooting will be spur of the moment family snapshots and I think having a small camera is 99% of the battle. I'd rather have 200 opportunities at very good pictures than 50 opps. at excellent ones. I have a pretty nice 35mm SLR and I never take it with me.

I've seen quite a few sd200 pictures here, Canon siteand DHCP and think they are great but I do think the s410's are better. The speed and video are drawing me to the sd200.

I actually do have a question here. I want a hi speed 512 SD card and the sandisk is pretty expensive at $70.00. I've seen some for around $40 on ebay but I done know how good PQI or ATP cards are? I do want to shoot at 30 or 60 fps video and I think the speed of the card will affect write speed so shot to shot speed improves.

Any thoughts?

Steve There's still a 10% chance I might get the s410

"Smaller" is not the weight is it?

I believe the dimensions are "smaller".

It might be a little heavier?

They're practically the same size, SD200 is 15 gms lighter.

This as per the Canon USA website:

SD200 : 85.8 x 53.4 x 21.1 mm; 115 gms w/o battery

SD300: 86 x 53 x 20.7 mm; 130 gms w/o battery
