I have used Sony comeras and have found the connectivity with the to be PC very simple - Windows XP recognizes the camera memory as a removalble disk drive - so u can cut and paste images using Windows Explorer. the most convenienet things isthatno drivers are required (makes it very easy to share pictures too).

Is it same for Canon? Or do I need to install drivers orimage downloading software?

I am planning to buy a Canon SD300, so want to be sure before that.

Not sure about your particular model of Canon but... Windows XP will generally recognize any camera. You don't really need to install anything (although most people install the Canon software because it has very good software--even the file browser they have is supposedly good)...

(Windows 98 and others will require drive installation)
