Are the fast memory cards needed for doing video on the sd300? I have been using an older 1mp canon with the compact flash cards for the past couple years and do not know much about the SD or higher speed cards. I have researched a bit and not found anything really concrete on the subject. I don't think I would be doing much real video work with the camera, but on the other hand if the price difference is not too great I would rather go ahead and get the best up front. Thanks.

I read that in order to shoot 30fps you'll need a high speed SD card. I assume that goes for 60 fps, too

I bought the 512mb Highspeed Bytestore Sd from Amazon which is very good and allows me to shoot all the video I need.

It cost £36.99 (I think) in UK.

Hey,

I don't have SD300--I have SD200. But seeing they are mostly the same, from my experience with the camera... reg SD card works fine. I am using the slow as heck reg 1gb SD sandisk, without problem. though, few video shots are sometimes abit too jerky on wmp--maybe its me. It works perfectly on rmp, & WinDVD. So, I don't think you really need a high quality SD disk.

Though I wanted to get SD300, I couldn't wait.I am happy with SD200, however.
