There's no doubt A80 is an awesome camera. Since A95 is the latest with same series, does it mean it's better than A80. Thanks for any input.

I'd say the A80is inferior to the A95. Since they are so close in price I'd go the the A95.

I like the A95 better because:

The A80 is just a bit larger and heavier.

A95 is 5.0MP Vs the A80 4.0MP

A95 has a larger movie resolution

A95 has slightly larger digital zoom

A95 has a bayonet mount

A95 has a larger LCD

A95 has 5 flash modes, the A80 only 3

A95 comes with a 32MB CF card

A95 has a better software package

SONY W1 - Lovely to hold etc, great screen, ssssssooooooffffffttttt pictures. (My experience only, others seem to love it.)

SONY T3 - No experience with it.

CANON A95 - LOVE IT!!! Forget the rest, order it & love it when it arrives.

I hope I came across as both balanced and impartial!:-)

IMHO, at lot depends on what you want to do with it or your priority. When I bought mine, the No.1 priority is that the camera must be small enough for me to carry around often to take pics of whatever that I comes across. What's good is a great all-dancing-all-singing camera if I don't like to carry it because it's too big and often left it sitting on the shelf at home?

For me, the Canon are just a tad too large for my pants.

Hi, can anyone tell me if the A95 has a remaining battery indicator so that you have a rough idea as to how much battery time you have left.

No, the red light comes on and you find a store or put the spare of rechargables in. TBH, I always have a spare set anyway so this isn't too much of a problem for me.

Just for the sake of accuracy:

The A95 does not have a bayonet mount

The A80 also comes with a 32MB CF card

The A95 has more scenemodes, but the A80 does havetwo custom modes versus the A95's one.

The A95 does have a larger reolution video mode, but is limited to 30 seconds which is rather annoying.

Concerning the software package, I'm not sure, but I think it's the same one.

Cheers,

Ludo
