Hi all, I keep reading about the up date so i went to www.powershot.com they have the update listed but its not available...

http://consumer.usa.canon.com/ir/con...=9823#firmware

anyone know what the deal is?? im waiting for my camera to arrive, i got it from Dell, i got one last week but the LCD screen wasnt working so i had to send it back for a new one... so, i am waiting for it to come in and im reading some of the posts here... will i even need the up date? the one i had last week sure seemed like it needed to be up dated, the A/F was slow and it took along time to set itsself, it kept going in and out, in and out till it finally locked on!

whats the deal there?

thanks!

From what I can see, it says N/A, which means not applicable.
On the other hand..if you go to Canon's website..eg www.canon.com .. and you go to DOWNLOADS (updates/drivers etc).... the link doesn't even work. It leads to nowhere. So I have no idea what they're doing over there.

Update: Ok..I just checked the Downloads link..and it seems to be working now. Maybe they were doing updates or upgrades to their site yesterday. The N/A for the powershot pro update is still there though.

Just follow the links from the article on the Breaking News page here:

http://www.steves-digicams.com/diginews.html#pro1firm

You'll see that it points to this Canon page (that you can follow to the download page, which will require a serial number):

Zacker,

How do you like your Pro 1? You seem to be one of the few people still visiting these threads who has one. I'm thinking about getting one, but everyone complains about the lag and freeze-frame focusing. What's the scoop?

Thanks.
