Hi everyone!

I bought ixus 40 (sd 300) couple days ago. What I have noticed is that this camera produces various quality of images.
As a matter of fact ,sometimes objects (faces, stuffs etc.) are very bright, and sometimes they are very dark.
This thing doesn't occur with every shot.On the average some 15 percent of fotos are bad like this.(applies for the portrait, indoor, auto modes)
This thing makes me little nervous .I used to have A-200 for a two years, and haven't noticed this this thing.
I have used flash in ALL of this fotos!

Have a look and tell me is it normal,or am I just subject to A-200?

?? :?: Did you say you use flash with everything? It seems as if the left shots used flash while the right pics didn't. Is that the case?

Clearly the objects are very white because the flash is very strong. See how it turns up when you are a bit further back (try taking two or three identical pics with different distance from the object (while using flash with all of them))...

Of course,I used flash in all of the four images!
I'll mention again:in about 15 percent of pictures this thing happens.

hmm... it seems as if the flash is not working in the right-hand pics. Try forcing flash (i.e. flash on at all times) and see if you get pics like the ones on the right...

Any SD300 users running into anything like this?

your flash doesnt match up with your camera, it doesnt take the pic right when the flash goes off

i'd say its broke!

Yah...could be something wrong with the timing mechanism that triggers the flash maybe, or the automatic aperture or shutter speed settings have gone haywire. May have to go get the camera checked out by canon....or just exchange for a working one.

:GI'v had a similar problem ocassionally and believe it is caused by shooting pictures faster than my flash can recycle when the batteries are less than fresh.

No, I have a Canon EOS 10D. I thought battery level might be something to check before getting into expensive repairs. :bye:
