Hi...

I recently purchased a Canon PowerShot G6 camera. I
love the camera.

However, recently I've noticed that in full-telephoto
mode (28.8 mm) there seems to be an out-of-focus issue
in the upper right hand corner of some frames.

I can't be sure if this is a depth-of-field problem,
but from my own experience I'd guess not .... that it
is an issue with the camera itself.

My questions:

What would be a fair test of the camera?

If my suspicions do hold out, what are my
realistic options as to how to resolve this issue. The
camera is about 5 weeks old.

Thanks in advance for your response ...

I think you're right. I just checked the focus on maximum optical zoom and even close to maximum optical zoom, and the camera gets the blinking light that indicates that the camera couldn't get a good focus lock. So I sure hope that canon can deal with this issue, because your report looks accurate to me here. But I'll have to do some more testing to look into this a bit more.

I think you're having bigger problems than I did ... my G6 seems to focus fine even at max zoom ... focus locks and all ... it's just that in my case the enlarged image in Photoshop appears slightly blurry in the upper right hand corner

.... but please continue your testing and let me know what you find out ...

Thanks, Stephen
