The SanDisk std from Costco. You'll only see a difference in performance if ytou arerunning benchmarks.

Here's why: 8MP camera at 12b/pixel = 12MB. Say you have an 8fps camera (I do). That's 8x12MB/s or 72MB/s needed to keep up. The fastest flash RAM available can't do this. Note that 72MB/s is about five times faster than the sustained write speed of the typical hard disk drive in you computer (that fun burst of 100 or 133MB/s is only for the size of the cache, only about 8MB).

So save buck or buy bigger and take more pictures.

Memory card may matter for video... so that is also something to keep in mind... BUT I think the Canon cameras have short videos so it may not matter much...

No an SD300 has unlimited video in everything but high-speed 320x480 at 60fps. A normal SD card is fine for the 640x480 at 30fps but they do recommend a high-speed card (at least 60x speed)for that60fps mode.

Whichever costs the least. I have a Kingmax 1GB 60x card and it has been amazing.

Just a note:

Regular Sandisk 512's and 1GB's work fine in all modes on my SD200 (60fps mode, included) - no dropped frames or stuttering
