Default Usual Problems with my Canon S230

My first one I had just seemed to take crappy pictures. I returned it and decided on the Kodak LS443 after having great experiences with my Kodak DC3400. After I returned my S230, I came back and read the forums quite a bit and the people here convinced me I had made a big mistake so I went out and rebought the S230 thinking the other might have been defective.

Now I sit here with my S230 and more than half of my shots (friends, family, sports) turn out crappy. I'll try to get a gallery posted so you can see all my out of focus shots. All shots were taken in auto mode with automatic settings and I must say for a top end camera, I'm very unhappy (yet again).
