Can any1 tell me is there a way to directly insert date in picture while taking photo (directly from camera and not with some program)

There is no way as the G5 does not have a "data back" function. Your only option will be to insert it with a software program that allows you to insert text such as some version of Photoshop. Canon's own software may have the option- I don't have it in front of me to check. My Canon i960 printer's software (EasyPrint) allows for the insertion of the date much like a traditional camera data back. I personally never liked the idea of a date printedon a picture unless it was for some legal reason. Now with digital files you always have access to the date unless you delete your images after printing them.

canons software does allow you to insert the date
