Default Using new Canon with older PowerMac?

Greetings all,

As my first post, I must say how great this forum is.

Moving on...I'm seriously considering picking up an A40 after Christmas. However, I just noticed that Canon's requirements state that a Mac with built-in USB ports are required. Unfortunately, I'm still using an older beige G3/300 but was thinking of purchasing a USB PCI card.

So, is anyone out there successfully using a Canon cam and a PowerMac with USB card? If so, which card?

Thanks a ton,

Josh

I've got an OrangeMicro USB+Firewire card for my G3 updated PowerComputing computer which works great. My only wish is that it was a USB 2.0 card but having Firewire for my Ext. HD and CDRW is totally worth it (and for DVCams).

I bought a Belkin USB PCI card for $20 to use in my 7300. I also bought a compact flash card reader which plugs into the USB card. It works great. Insert the A40's compact flash card and it appears on your desktop.
