I recently bought Canon Powershot A95. The camera seems to be fine except that there is a small red dot in the image that it takes. This is not visible against a bright background. I first noticed this when I took shots under poor light with a black background. At first I thought its a problem with the LCD. But when I uploaded the pictures in my PC, this red dot was there. Could this be a problem with the lens or the the software. Is this something that needsto befixed. Please share your views.

It looks like a problem there. If the camera is still under warranty, I'm sure you have the right to get the camera replaced with another which doesn't have that problem. I just don't believe that customers should put up with new cameras having pixel problems. You've probably got a hot-pixel or stuck pixel. If the red dot is in exactly the same place in multiple photos, then I think the problem is tied to the CCD.

The red dot is always there in the same spot. Thanks for the input. I've taken it back to the place where I bought it and they are taking care of it.

its a stuck pixel, u can send it back to canon, get it remapped, and have another one and u send it back again until your warranty is over or just clone it out with PS and make an Action with it so it can do it automatically, and then wait until its almost the end of the warranty and send it back for remapping of all the pixels that have gone stuck over the year.:|
