I can't find any information about the F stop range of the S-2. My old Canon Pro90 only went to F-8. Also, anyone have a pic taken at the widest, F 2.7, to see how the dept of field range is? I recently just upgraded from my Pro90 to Canon 350D XT, but am getting concern about the total cost for lens. Plus I miss the IS and can't afford the IS lens on the dSLR's.

The Canon S2 has a max. aperture of F2.7 at wide angle, diminishing to F3.5 at the telephoto end of the lens (according to Dcresource).
