I've just purchased a Canon A95 and will be going on a 2wk vacation. I've gotten the Maha C204W charger and one set of 2300 mAh AA batteries so far.

Now all reports say that the Canon A95 has unusually good battery life. So the question: Is a single set of NiHM rechargeables w/charger sufficient for a long trip, keeping spare alkalines on hand in the event I need to finish the day out before recharging the NiMHs at night? Or should I get an extra set of NiMHs?

TIA

(and sorry about the cross-post in case you saw this in the batteries forum)

As I said, 1 set can be enough, but I'd suggest for 2... With batteries that have been cycled 5 times, you can get about 400 shots with the A95, which should be enough for the average 1 day. Now, the possible problem is the memory space since you'd need 1gb worth of cards to be able to shoot 400 pictures at 5mp and superfine.

Well, I've got almost that... 512 + 256 + 128 CF cards

Thx for the reply
