I just bought an Ixus 50, and discovered that I'm on thin ice when I need to setup the camera myself... Whenever I find myself in situations where 'auto' isn't good enough, I realize that I don't know what to do..

Yep, I am kind of new at the game...

Do you know of a quick reference / tutorial document that could teach me the basics? For instance: What if the background is very light. What if the room is dark and the people are far far away (recently attended a wedding...). When is it a good idea to adjust, ISO, white balance and all the other stuff.

The summer has come to Norway, and theres lots of things to take pictures of, so I need to improve fast

All help appreciated!
