Default Is This Typical of S-45 Battery?

I just purchased the camera yesterday. Charged the battery until green lights came on. Played with camera looking at various menus, settings, zoom, etc. and took 3 pictures and erased them--maybe used camera a total of 1 hour last night. Turned it on again this morning and took another picture and kept camera on for no more than 30 minutes. When I turned it on tonight I got the low battery warning symbol. I can't believe that the battery is already drained. Is this normal?

Batteries are always shipped "Bone Dry" with no charge, and therefore require a good 12 hours of charging time the first time out. The battery life you experienced would be typical of the short charge you gave it before playing with the camera. Give them a good overnight charge and you will see a big difference in longevity.
